an exploration in art.
Hi, I’m Maddie!
Being the daughter of two artistically inclined parents, art has always been a way of life for me, from drawing and sculpting to hairstyling and makeup design. In a continual search for new canvases and creative pursuits, I began painting on clothing with acrylic paints in the Spring of 2020 which has quickly become my favorite artistic challenge yet. This venture has since expanded to painting on sneakers, accessories, video game controllers and more, and has also inspired me to explore traditional mediums like oil paints and charcoal. To me, creativity embodies individuality, passion, and personality—elements that I try to capture in each unique design for each distinct customer.
Studying public health at Johns Hopkins University during my undergraduate education and nursing at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing during my graduate education made me realize the importance of using my skills and passions—whatever those may be—as vehicles for change. I therefore not only want to create art for the sake of expressing both myself and the vision of others, but also for the purpose of supporting non-profits, social movements, and public health issues. I continually donate a percentage of my proceeds to monetarily and longitudinally support non-profit organizations that are working at the community level. I launched the Wear Your Mind initiative to better use my voice to amplify and raise awareness of various social movements through art, all while giving others the opportunity to do the same.
I am currently working as a nurse, and though my days are filled with patient-care, I am intent on dedicating my free time to evolving and growing MC Art.
